All (or at least 95%) of the Hotspots on the texascenturyclub.org website are attached to their respective Hotspot Explorer map locations on the eBird site. This continues the "dream" of making the Texas Century Club site not just a self centric statistical site, but ALSO, a portal for birders exploring counties they may not be familiar with. In addition, links to the new all encompassing eBird "Location Explorer" page for each county is also set up. This new eBird tool is quit useful for keeping up with the latest reports for each county. Even those that aren't Hotspot related. We're hoping others get involved in this organic site. Adding their own ideas to counties they've birded. Example of a Big Day summary set up by David Sarkozi for Chambers County will hopefully inspire others to write a similar synopsis for counties they know well. Also Anthony Hewetson's views for "attacking" obscure counties such as Loving would be helpful for all 254 counties. Again this site could be so much more than just a numbers game. The more you put in the more you get out of it - type of a thing. Editing on the mediawiki page is much easier than one might think. Even for those who think they know nothing about the web. Also there are fun creative activities that are developing. The latest is what I would call "Map art". A couple of developing ways to portray your county prowess via colored maps.
