Hi, all!
I led a group of eager Texas Ornithological Society (TOS) folks to La Sal
del Rey today; while we got dumped on towards the end, it started out nice
and cool, with great looks at Olive Sparrows along the trail to the Lake,
flyover Sandhill Cranes, and even some Turkeys! Pyrrhuloxias were quite
plentiful, and one of our group found a White-tailed Hawk nest! The nice
folks at the Rio Beef Feedyard let us in to see Brewer's Blackbirds, and a
couple of Say's Phoebes outside the compound was exciting. A Curve-billed
Thrasher was a life bird for some folks, and some saw a couple of Vermilion
Flycatchers at Delta Lake Park. Some pictures can be seen on my Facebook
