Just a reminder that we have our free Swift Night Out event this Thursday,
Sept. 4th, 2014, starting at 7:30 pm. Come and join the count!
Bring mosquito repellent and lawn chairs if you wish. Binocs are optional as
the swifts fly so low here.
We will have the count at the South end of the park near the playground off
Evergreen St. Parking would be closer and easier if you use the parking lot
off of Evergreen Street right across from Evergreen Pool (just west of the
intersection of Newcastle and Evergreen Streets.)
Although we do not have huge numbers of Chimney Swifts, they do fly really low
here right over our heads, so it's easy to get a good look at them before they
enter the chimneys. Last week I counted 31 swifts enter this chimney.
We will have water and snacks donated by Whole Foods Bellaire!
The Nature Discovery Center is located in Russ Pitman Park in Bellaire TX at
7112 Newcastle between Bellaire Blvd and Evergreen St just inside Loop 610.
