I grew up out there and we periodically have several nesting pairs on a few
properties. We can never locate the nests but we see the pairs hunting over
cattle pastures.

About mid-day today, Anthony Hewetson and myself had 2 Swallow-tailed
Kites in Lavaca County along 530 between 2437 and the town of Speaks.
While we had several other nice birds for the day, those were probably the
highlights.
Also noteworthy was a kettle of ~60 Anhinga over Eagle Lake Municipal Park
in Colorado County.
