First discovered by Cameron Carver, the first winter SURF SCOTER was seen
in the distant middle of the lake. A bit later it found a bit of shelter
flying to a western raft of Ruddy Ducks, Redhead, and Lesser Scaup. There
it rested/slept for the rest of our time there.

No dark gull seen. I arrived at 0850 and we all left around 2 pm. Two
sub-adult Herring Gulls were seen, one was darker than the other.
 Otherwise, Ring-billed, a few Bonaparte's, and a few Franklin's rounded
out the gulls present.

Lots of birds in and around the lake.
