Hi, all!
Took visiting birder Mike from Minnesota up to Starr County today - it hit
101 degrees!!! (At least according to my car thermometer...) Before it got
too hot to bird we had a Zone-tailed Hawk at the Salineno Boat Ramp (thanks
to Mary G. for pointing it out), a fly-by Red-billed Pigeon at the end of
the trail, and a glimpse of the Ringed Kingfisher. The feeders had the usual
visitors but the Audubon's was a heard-only. A Black-tailed Gnatcatcher
along the Dump Road was a highlight, as was a pair of Chihuahuan Ravens at
Falcon State Park! A couple of pictures from the feeders can be seen on my
