[texbirds] South Padre Island, 10/29/12

Last year on the 19th of Oct during a frontal passage I found 11 species of 
sparrows on South Padre Island.  After this weekends front I decided to head 
out to SPI today with visions of sparrows dancing in my head.  The front 
definitely blew out a lot of birds but did not replace them with much.  There 
were four White-crowned Sparrows at the Convention Center.  Interesting was a 
flock of 15 Pied-billed Grebes in the bay.  Best of the ten species of warblers 
was this Palm Warbler at the entrance to the Island.

This Rose-breasted Grosbeak looked a bit beat up as it fed on pigeon berries at 
Sheepshead.

I'll give a shiny new nickle to anyone who IDs the blur flying across the head 
of this White-crowned Sparrow.  Pretty easy.
