Put Saturday, August 30 on your calendar for a combined hawk watching trip
and some of the best fried fish and oysters available at the same time. The
Smith Poing VFD fish fry will be open from 11am to 2 pm. Great food for a
good cause. Hawk watch is open all day.
Years ago you ate outdoors and could watch hawks overhead and several
olive-sided flycatchers in the trees. Now its indoors at the fire station
which is better when its 100 or its raining.
The fire station is on plummer camp road. Turn left about a half mile
before the turn to the hawk watch.
