It was cold and windy on the tower yesterday and still a few birds coming
by. The best was a young of the year bald eagle that went right overhead
but photography was limited by watering eyes and the bottom of the bifocals

Pete the nanday parakeet in town and the the peacock flock were more
interested in sunning and staying out of the wind

For several weeks, 2 ospreys have been going around together shouting at
each other but they have never stopped being together

More late season birds have wing problems which is probably why they are
late. The last Mississippi kite was in worse shape than this broad-winged
hawk

Turkey vultures were back and forth and started across near the tower
several times but never made it like this adult bird

The drought affected these hooded mergansers which dropped into the town
pond and were fishing but the pond was almost dry a bit ago limiting the
fishing although the herons etc sure enjoyed the last water.

The hawk watch formally ends tomorrow and unless there is a dramatic change
in the wind forecast, this is my last trip of the season but the new season
is less than 9 months away.
