Hi Daniel, Thanks for mentioning this. Yes, summer Red-shouldered Hawks in
the Valley are quite unusual, BUT Santa Ana is one locations that an
individual or pair does often occur, and the general Pintail/Willow Lakes
area is the best location. Another is the "Cannon Road" area farther east.
I had one Red-shouldered Hawk at Santa Ana in May this year, but haven't
been able to check on the Red-shoulders since then.
