A whopping 13 other people from Tennessee, Virginia, Georgia, Texas,
and elsewhere around the country joined me for the bird walk today.
Our best bird was what I presumed was a least flycatcher (Link to
photo below- I would love for somebody to prove me wrong, as I don't
pretend to be an empid expert!). Other birds of note were a female
vermilion flycatcher that has been hanging around the backside of
Pintail 2, and a Clay-colored Thrush that was coming sheepishly to the
back edge of the feeding station. A backlit hawk that we had near the
end of the walk, upon looking at photos, was an immature White-tailed
Hawk.

Walks are offered daily and leave the visitor center at 8:30 am.
