Hi, all! MJ and I covered Section 9 of the Santa Ana CBC this blustery morning, which basically covers the ag fields north of US 281 along with a few isolated patches of thornscrub/woodland, including a little hidden pond that almost always hides night herons. A Burrowing Owl was reported around Amaya and Border which we could NOT refind, but a Merlin harassing a Krider's Redtail and a flyover Sprague's Pipit were nice. The Redwing-nadoes were spectacular, but we could find no Yellowheads in with them this year.
