Had a beautiful male Black-capped Vireo at eye level in bush above the
MerryCox bench near middle of pond (north central part if park) just after
7:15[1]am this morning in Sabine Woods. Bird then slowly made way east into
more thickly wooded area. This bird was apparently discovered by several
birders on Thursday in same general area but not seen later thurs or friday.
Todd McGrath mentioned he also saw it today in same area around 8.
There was also a possible sighting late morning. Bird not showing much
outside of one small wooded area. No previous jefferson county observations.
Not sure if any previous Upper Texas Coast sightings.
Hopefully someone will get a photo if/when it reappears. Still a 10mph north
wind so hopefully it stays put.
Also lots of other migrant variety. At least 13 warbler sp collectively by
11am[2]At least 17 warbler sp. reported collectively yesterday. No kiskadee
today as of 11am[3]
Sabine Woods Rocks!
