Dear Texbirders, The first 10 days of the Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz have turned up several Rusty Blackbirds: http://ebird.org/ebird/tx/map/rusbla?neg=true&env.minX=-123.63153&env.minY!.293717158209812&env.maxX=-76.522155&env.maxY@.383578842527264&zh=true&gp=true&ev=Z&mr=on&bmo=3&emo=3&yr=cur With 22 days left in March there is time to cover some ground to document where and when Rusty Blackbirds are occurring in Texas. To help find out where they might be found, here is a link to observations in eBird from previous years: http://ebird.org/ebird/tx/map/rusbla?neg=true&env.minX=-97.75048751953125&env.minY).271510699893984&env.maxX=-91.86181564453125&env.maxY1.685606161870403&zh=true&gp=true&ev=Z&mr=1-12&bmo=1&emo&yr=all It looks like Houston in particular could use a lot of attention. Tyler, San Antonio, Austin, College Station, Belton (Chuck Sexton?), Madisonville (Shirley Wilkerson), Dallas, Granger Lake, Trinity River area, Nacogdoches (hmmm, who could be there?), and all birders in East Texas are needed for a good sample of Rusty Blackbird occurrence. There aren't many of you in the NE and SE areas so your outings are especially valuable. Please post to Texbirds to let us know if you went out questing for RUBL.
