Dear Texbirders, A new story is up at the Texas eBird portal with details for the upcoming Rusty Blackbird Spring Migration Blitz. Let's find those Rusties! http://ebird.org/content/tx/news/rusty-blackbirds-looking-forward-looking-back/ Also, here is a link to the eBird Texas Range Map to help you find locations to check. With so few places birded in East Texas, there are oodles of places where they could be found. Just look across the border in Louisiana to see what a difference broad coverage can make. The purple blob in the range map in Louisiana is a result of the Louisiana Winter Bird Atlas. Texas has quite a bit of catching up to do with regard to rural birding coverage and this is a good opportunity to do just that. http://ebird.org/ebird/tx/map/rusbla?neg=true&env.minX=-116.9518425&env.minY=24.64126791747946&env.maxX=-83.2018425&env.maxY=37.55698268247119&zh=true&gp=false&ev=Z&mr=1-12&bmo=1&emo=12&yr=last10 If you have any questions please contact me or Rick Steenberg.
