Now that the rains have cleared off, at least 50 robins have newly arrived at this small park in Bellaire. (BTW, Bear Creek has none.) I saw 3 to 4 rufous hummingbirds, each tend to guard his patch of shrimp plants. One male calliope near the middle of the park, in low oak growth, probably bug hunting along with Wilson's warbler. 11:30 a.m. One possible broad tailed hummingbird, female, with all green crown, back and tail. Tail is longer than wings, throat fine speckled. Didn't get to see flanks, however. Not see long enough or close enough to fuss over primary wing feather lengths.
