A Western Tanager was the surprise of the day, flying across the road and
back in front of a full tram just before the Kiskadee Trail. An afternoon
search of the camping area to the north of the restrooms was unsuccessful.
An estimated 300 plus Wood Storks were feeding in the Hunter's Lane Resaca
in the morning and were seen again around 5 PM. Later in the evening they
were heading toward the east.

DIRECTIONS: The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located
on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732,
follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles;
shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park.
