The morning was great for viewing young birds. On the south side of the
park especially, young Couch's Kingbirds and Groove-billed Anis were
abundant. Plenty of swallows were flying low. Most of the Orchard Orioles
were seen before or along the grasslands area, all but a few were female.
We're also starting to see empids.
The photos are a taste of what you might see when you visit.

DIRECTIONS: The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located
on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732,
follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles;
shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park.
