A Ring-necked Duck showed up today, but so did more than one hungry hawk.
As of mid afternoon the duck had managed to elude several attempts to turn
it into dinner and was still in the Kiskadee Deck area.

Gray Hawks, adult and juvenile, have been reported in recent weeks after a
long spell with no sightings.  Today Dick Wilson photographed a juvenile on
the south side of the tram road.  Most reports have come from the north
side of the park.

DIRECTIONS:  The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located
on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732,
follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles;
shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park.
