Two Swallow-tailed Kites were in the air this morning, one in the South
Mexican Olive area, the other near Hunter's Lane a short time later, coming
from a different direction.  Park staff reported a kite in the Visitor
Center area and this may be the second bird we saw.  Both birds were not
seen together.

All three kingfishers were seen together - from Yellowthroat Trail at the
south resaca.  Water in this area is quite a bit higher now so no
sandpipers were seen.

DIRECTIONS:  The main entrance to Resaca de la Palma State Park is located
on New Carmen Blvd. From Expressway 77/83, exit at Olmito, take FM 1732,
follow for 2.5 miles; turn left at New Carmen Road; follow for 1.5 miles;
shortly after the gravel hump in the road, turn left to enter the park.
