All trails are now open and clear except the far south end (Quail &
White-winged Dove have some tall grass but are enjoyable if you spray down
well). Thank you, Ruben Rangel, for volunteering a day to help Dick Wilson
finish work on Yellowthroat, Coyote and Bobcat trails! I walked all three
Wednesday morning. My list is below. Lincoln's Sparrows, plenty of Indigo
Buntings, a few Painted Buntings and two Dickcissels were nice, as were
several warbler flocks. There was a single calling Groove-billed Ani, the
first I've heard in a while.
There is once again water in the first part of the resaca (first & second
bridge). Since all but Hunter's Lane has been dry this is a nice
improvement. Don't expect water at the South Mexican Olive or Flycatcher
decks, although the trails are in good shape.
