This morning I was out walking (sans binoculars) when I heard what I
thought was a Blue Jay overhead. I looked up and I saw a Red-shouldered
Hawk on a power line. The bird came very close to making a "jay" sound.
I watched and listened for about a minute. I've observed lots of Blue Jays
mimicking Red-shouldered Hawks, but never vice versa.
