Hello,

I went out to White Rock Lake this afternoon with Julia Steigerwald and Michael
Falconer to try to refind Chris Runk's Red-necked Grebe. We started out on the
dam, with the sun behind us for great viewing conditions. Spent some time here
and didn't find it. Susan Thrower told us the grebe was further north so we
relocated to TP Hill and started moving north along the shoreline. We did not
find it until we had gone to the other side of the cove just north of TP Hill
and scoped the lake. The grebe was towards the middle of the lake with some
roosting gulls. Decent views, even with the wind and haze, but horrible pics.
It seemed pretty content, so it may stay for a bit.

Good birding,
