[texbirds] Red-headed Woodpecker and 6 Franklin‘s Gulls at Quintana

Not only it was a very nice Sunday but also interesting morning at  
Quintana. At least 6 Franklin’s Gulls at the jetty and at about 9 AM I found 
one  
juvenile (with first few red feathers on the head and throat) Red-headed  
Woodpecker foraging on and from (flycatching) palm trees. It is always  
interesting to see this woodpecker on the shore. I spent about hour watching it 
 
catching insects on wing and snatching them from the ground, climbing trees 
and  more. Here are a few selected photos.
