All -
Friends in New England have told me that it is a banner year for Red-breasted
Nuthatches. I do not know if this applies to the middle of the country, but
they are definitely corruptive in the East. We should be looking for them in
TX.
I was away from home when they went through the Coastal Bend the last time, so
I still need one for my Yard List.
Fingers crossed....

Dale,
Interesting - I also had a Red-breasted Nuthatch in my yard (Bell County)
this morning! Who knows, we might have an irruptive year for the species.

Subject: [texbirds] Red-Breasted Nuthatch
Today- I've heard and seen a red-breasted nuthatch in my yard twice. I
don't see them in my yard every winter and this sighting seems early. I'm
trying for a photo.
Also seen today in my yard, large flock of yellow-rump warblers, several
ruby-crowned kinglets, brown thrasher.
Best of all, for me, while trying to photo the rbnu, a pileated flew in, so
I got a photo of it.
