Back on the 30th, the red-winged blackbirds were all singing at Anahuac
refuge

Roseate spoonbills are starting to disperse to places like Bob Road where
they show that it is hard to drink

I was hearing white-rumped sandpipers on Bob Road but some of the birds on
the edge did not look right

So they were western sandpipers as they are semipalmated and white-rumps
are not

Good numbers of frigatebirds on the ferry

But the best look at this neotropic terminal migrant were 3 birds just over
the treetops at the neotropic sanctuary where they could have been
returning from a boat ride on a shrimp boat

The bryan beach lagoon did have white-rumped sandpipers

A trip on June 4th started on Galveston where the tropical kingbird pair
was in great voice at either their 2nd or 3rd nest attempt for the year

Most black terns at east beach were first year non-breeders

The clapper rail family was out in the sun

part of Galveston bay

couple of minutes

are going to compete for the ugliest gull of the summer. Both appear to be
