[texbirds] Recent Sightings at the Edinburg Scenic Wetlands

Hello All!
It's been a pretty eventful weekend and start of the week, with the sightings
of the American Woodcock! Very cool bird to have visit us here at the wetlands!
John Brush provided a great picture of it as well! I've looked for it again
pretty much all day today, however, and have not had much luck. I'm sure it
will pop up closer to the evening, given that it's mostly a nocturnal bird,it
was being seen around the times of 2-5 pm, for the most part.
As far as today's sightings, there's been beautiful Northern Cardinals singing
away through the day, along with Ruby-crowned Kinglets, Black and White
Warbler, Orange-crowned Warbler, Long-billed Thrashers, and others. The
waterfowl seem to be preferring South Pond over North Pond, since the only
visible birds at North Pond were American Coots, Common Gallinule, Great Blue
Heron, and Black-crowned Night Herons, for the most part. Cinnamon Teal,
Green-winged Teals, Blue-winged Teals, Redhead ducks, Ruddy Ducks and other
waterfowl can be seen more at South Pond lately.
The Green Kingfisher has been pretty active at Dragonfly Pond, we usually see
it jump from there to North Pond and back.
