This morning at 9:10 am, we were birding the ponds and Dale Ohl spotted a female Red Phalarope. Between the three of us we were able to round up Carolyn Ohl, Bill Sain, and Mike Dupree for intermittent viewing throughout the day; the bird was still present well after 2 pm. The SW ponds in Marathon are on private property and folks need to arrange access through Matt or myself; Matt will be out of the region for most of the week, but I should be fairly flexible, schedule-wise. Texting is preferred, my cell is 617.823.4862 and I will actually have to physically accompany anyone going, just for liability reasons. Matt's photos are now on the blog: http://www.bigbendnature.com/2014/06/red-phalarope-breeding-plumage-marathon.html Happy trails, -h Heidi Trudell, Matt York Marathon, TX On Sun, Jun 15, 2014 at 9:39 AM, Reid Martin <upupa@xxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > Dear All, > Heidi Trudell has asked me to post that this morning Dale Ohl found a > breeding-plumaged Red Phalarope at the Marathon Sewage pond(s).
