Hello, It was one of "those" mornings, where everything seemed to be really hopping. The bird walk started off by getting nice looks at a pair of perching *Swainson's Hawks*, who spent some time preening and stretching in a mesquite. This one looks quite affronted: http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivaceousj/9477574235/ It was a very active morning as far as *Turdus* species were concerned. *Clay-colored Thrushes* were everywhere, bathing and cleaning out the feeders. Surprisingly, we also had an out of season *American Robin *show up (juvenile bird)! http://www.flickr.com/photos/olivaceousj/9477573867/ Full list below: Plain Chachalaca 10 Swainson's Hawk 2 Rock Pigeon 3 White-winged Dove 22 Inca Dove 4 White-tipped Dove 2 Eastern Screech-Owl 1 Common Pauraque 1 Buff-bellied Hummingbird 3 Golden-fronted Woodpecker 6 Ladder-backed Woodpecker 2 Great Kiskadee 4 Couch's Kingbird 1 Tropical/Couch's Kingbird 1 White-eyed Vireo 1 Purple Martin 1 Cave Swallow 7 Black-crested Titmouse 2 Carolina Wren 2 Clay-colored Thrush 7 American Robin 1 Northern Mockingbird 4 Long-billed Thrasher 1 Curve-billed Thrasher 2 European Starling 3 Olive Sparrow 1 Northern Cardinal 1 Great-tailed Grackle 5 Orchard Oriole 8 Lesser Goldfinch 3 House Sparrow 15 -- John Brush Edinburg, Texas Interpretive Guide Quinta Mazatlan WBC Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
