Noticed a very dark brownish black hawk on telephone pole off 529 between Katy Hockley and Porter, around 4:00 pm Sunday evening. Thought at first maybe a very dark Harrier or a dark phase something. It flew and glided around area a couple of times coming back to poles by road. No white on the rump. Tail had some dark bands, bird was more dark brown than black. Perhaps a juvenile? Underside of wings consistent with Zone-tailed. Could not rule out other possibles, such as dark phase Swainson's or Short tail or common black hawk. But those seemed less likely. If you are in the area, just watch the telephone poles, it seemed pretty happy in that spot.
