[texbirds] Re: Possible Mew Gull at Sea Rim State Park

Followed Floyd Graham's link to the Mew and Ring-billed Gull photos. I
think the bird that is offered for comparison as Ring-billed Gull is
actually a washed out looking California Gull, going by the really long
primary projection and pinkish leg color. California's bill would be a bit
longer than a Ring-billeds, but that might not be as visible in the
photo due to angle of camera to bird.
The possible Mew Gull does look smaller than the surrounding Ring-billed
Gulls, and the bill looks a bit shorter, but the difference appears sort of
borderline to me... If it's a Mew Gull would it be the European form
("Common Gull')?
