*****************************************************88 Winds died down overnight so this morning was almost dead calm and very humid and dewy. I birded with Tira Overstreet most of the morning If it is possible that Scarlet Tanager can be junk birds, that filled the bill this morning. The things were everywhere and we gave up counting around 30. We often found triples together but only saw one female! Orchard Orioles also were too numerous for an accurate count Rose-breaded Grosbeaks were also nice to see Hockey's and neighboring mulberries had tanagers, Indigo Buntings, Kiskadees and orioles. Still kinda weak on the warbler end of things but there were a few around after yesterday complete dearth of them. Flycatchers are increasing. Kentuck warbler sometimes gave us great close looks and had my FOY Blackburnian warbler. Red-eyed Vireos are moving thru as well as still a fair number of swifts. Dickcissels are beginning to come in with an nice flock of about 18 near the house.
