I was finally able to look for the jaeger today around eleven this morning.
Success! I was able to get pictures and bird was very accommodating for
close views even with large Sunday crowd. The bird was resting on the sand
most of the time and did not move except if disturbed twice for the hour I
was there.. Even when the beach patrol car sounded the siren for a minute
to get some knuckle head out of the surf along the jetty trying to use a
throw net for bait, the bird looked around for a twenty seconds and settle
back down on the sand. I then took the ferry over to Bolivar and on the way
back saw one Magnificent Frigate Bird. Trip over and back was one hour
each way. Beautiful day for birding.
When I got back to Pearland I looked for the Bald Eagle and found one
setting in the same sycamore tree. I believe I had a second one fly by the
tree before I located one in the tree, but did not see two at one time.
