Yesterday(05/09), I birded Polywog Ponds and Hazel Bazemore County Park.
Some brief highlights at Polywog: An awesome mixed flock of Orioles, mostly
Orchard, a few Baltimores, and 1 Hooded.
Also some excellent Warblers: Canada, Chestnut-sided, American Redstart,
Magnolia, and Ovenbird.
Also observed: Painted and Indigo Buntings, Rose-breasted Grosbeak, Swainson's
Thrush, Grey Catbird, Acadian Flycatcher(seen and heard), Yellow-billed Cuckoo,
White-tipped Dove, male Ruby-throated Hummingbird, Spotted Sandpiper, Green
Kingfisher, and 6 Least Grebes.
Hazel highlights: Northern Waterthrush, Ovenbird, Magnolia Warbler, Wilson's
Phalarope, and Green Kingfisher.
