Dear all,

This note was sent on Saturday Oct 3rd but was not posted on Texbirds until
today Monday Oct 5. The Pintail Whydah was present on the afternoon of the 2nd
and observed briefly on the 3rd about 7:30 AM. It has not been seen since in
spite of many observers trying. He was quite vocal and since his calls were
unanswered has apparently moved on.

I also received a negative report on the Swans this morning from one observer.

Subject: [texbirds] Pin-tailed Whydah at Kleb Woods

A male Pin-tailed Whydah was seen yesterday afternoon and this morning at Kleb
Woods Nature Center. It has been eating bird seed with Scaly-breasted Munias
near the pond between the nature center and the barn. It is a new species for
the park and the 3rd new species found this week (the others were Leas
Sandpiper and Upland Sandpiper)! A photo is posted on the Friends of Kleb Woods
Facebook page.
