Today (03/08 - around 12:05pm, Central) I was lucky enough to see an adult
Mississippi Kite flying briskly(not a flight style generally associated with
most migrating Mississippi Kites) North over our house in NW Corpus Christi.
What a fantastic surprise...
On a side note - Libby and I are soon departing for Tubac, Arizona. Our friend
Peter Collins runs a Hawkwatch from Tubac, an awesome small town located in SE
Arizona. The Star of this critically important Hawkwatch is the Common
Black-Hawk. The primary Co-star would be the Zone-tailed Hawk. Other "expected"
Raptor species include Gray Hawk, Golden Eagle, and Prairie Falcon. Last
Season, a Short-tailed Hawk(light morph), was observed almost on a daily basis.
Obviously, visitors are more than welcome. Email me directly for further
details, if you would like.
Eyes to the Skies...
