Jan and I left town last Wednesday afternoon and came back yesterday and
before we left we could no longer see the Mississippi Chick in the nest.
Actually Tuesday evening we could not find it but did not have much time to
look. We were afraid something had eaten it but a few minutes ago we heard
something up in a different tree and it was one of the parents coming in to
give the chick food. It was way up in the top of another large tree in our
yard. I had looked all over for it in the trees and had not seen it. It left
the nest on the 13th so it was 23 days aprox from when we first found it. I
will have some pictures tonight and some will be our very first digiscope
pictures. If anyone wants to come by and see it you probably better do it
soon. While we watched it jumped and soared around for about 3-5 minutes and
then sat back down huffing and puffing.
