Texbirders,
A small group of birders and I returned from a migration songbird
departure scouting trip near Celestun, Yucatan, Mexico., mid day today.
For the last two days we looked for flocks of migrants at known departure
points very near Celestun. We found some migrants in small numbers
scattered through out the area, but not in any kind of numbers. We attributed
the
lack of migrant concentrations to the constant north wind keeping birds
from concentrating along the Celestun coast.
Just checking emails and finding that there was indeed good number of
migrants making landfall on the Texas coast yesterday and today.
Still wondering where the migrants arriving on the Texas coast recently
departed!
