For those in the Austin region and elsewhere...After a conflict with the Austin CBC last year and a bit of a slow turnout for the first year, the Lost Pines CBC has ramped up this year with a different date and a lot of events and a corrected website. This is the 2nd year the count has been conducted and this count holds a lot of potential given the Colorado runs right thru it. It looks like, for a number of reasons, this has agenda that would be of interest to all. Tucked nicely between the Austin CBC and the Bastrop CBC, the three counts cover almost a contiguous stretch of the river and the diverse habitats that are present along almost 50 miles of the three counts. No need to RSVP for the count proper but per the website some events maybe now closed for RSVPs, I figure it would not be a bad idea to call in for those anyway as this was not well advertised and a good turnout is still desired...There was not enough turn out to cover the area well on its inaugural start up last year.
