.
This morning I had a brief look at a bright oriole in CP's Veteran's
Memorial Park. This bird was in the big live oak by the community garden
area. It flew the opposite of the tree from me and I lost it in the
juniper/oak woods... Maybe it will hang out a while tho.,
Nearby on Parksville Way, 3 Least Grebes continue in a retention pond but
are very skittish for some reason and quickly retreat into cattails upon
approach.
I have been monitoring a scissortail roost area for a long time and that
continues but numbers have fluctuated between 2-7 now...I was much larger a
couple of weeks ago..
A male Taiga Merlin is in the same area and keeps things interesting.
Especially for the Morning Doves.
Happy Thanksgiving.
