First, Barn Swallows at LBJ High School have laid eggs. The pair at my house has shown greater interest in the nest, adding mud and routinely perching on it. Also, I still hear Bewick's Wrens singing in the more developed parts of my neighborhood. I returned to Dottie-Jordan Park this morning. Due to the drizzle, I walked without binoculars but didn't really need them. I got confused by a "robin-like song" early on, it seemed in between Red-eyed Vireo and Summer Tanager. A brilliant male Indigo Bunting was briefly in the open by the creek. Carolina Wrens were engaged in lively chase. The Chimney Swifts were fun to watch and deafening as they circled. Towards the end, a Solitary Sandpiper flew by me in the creek and landed a few feet away. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S13880892 http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist?subID=S13887224 Elliott Gordon AF5HH NW Austin Edit your Freelists account settings for TEXBIRDS at //www.freelists.org/list/texbirds Reposting of traffic from TEXBIRDS is prohibited without seeking permission from the List Owner
