I got out a bit this morning to my north Austin patch, St. Edward's Park
specifically. Oddly, it took me until today to see Orchard Orioles in my patch,
but I was rewarded with 2 today, a young male and an adult female. Also had
Eastern Wood-Pewee; Western Kingbird; Yellow-bellied, Least, and Great Crested
Flycatcher; BC Hummingbirds (2); RB Woodpecker; White-eyed, Red-eyed, and
Bell's Vireo; Carolina Wrens; Lesser Goldfinch; and several Cardinals among the
18 total species. This park is really pleasant on weekdays, with almost no one
else there. The Orchard Orioles bring me to 225 for the year.
