Some of you may know or have younger children that you wish were more
interested in the birds you love. Having them participate with a room full of
young naturalist might fan that spark. So while this is not a bird post per
say, it is a great opportunity for a would be birder. Below is the announcement
for a series of summer classes.
This summer, in lieu of A Closer Look at Nature, we will have a series of
classes about Nature Journaling. This summer series will help develop skills
of observation, journal keeping, and an appreciation for the intricacies of our
natural world. Each class in the series will be different, so you do not need
to attend them all to benefit from the classes. Class dates and descriptions
are below, they are on the following Thursdays from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.
June 4th - Introduction: What is a Nature Journal? (If you already have a
nature journal you would like to use, feel free to bring it. However, for this
first class, you do not need to bring a nature journal as we will discuss
different kinds of journals and other supplies you might want. If you do not
bring a journal, please bring a clipboard, book, or something hard to write on.)
June 18th - Nature Drawing: Anyone can do it!
July 16th - The Art of Seeing
August 6th - The Art of Listening
August 20th - Signs of Life
All are welcome to these free classes designed especially for school-aged
children.
