Sorry for the late post, but since we have no "official" Spring Hawkwatch here
in Corpus Christi, I want to get this bit of info on the "record".
Yesterday morning(03/28), I received a text from good Friend Mary King. Mary
was at Polywog Ponds, and was seeing numerous Hawks. I headed for the Ponds
and Bam! Broad-winged Hawks everywhere. Broad-winged Hawks getting up from
Polywog, Broad-winged Hawks East, West, North, and South. A conservative
estimate of 2,500 to 3,000 liftoff Broad-winged Hawks - a decent number of
which were directly overhead. Mary informed me that it was her first liftoff,
and I am so very thrilled that she shared...
Also, male Hooded Warbler, and a sharp Yellow-rumped Warbler(Myrtle)nearly
dressed for the prom...
An awesome morning - thanks for the heads up Mary!
Eyes to the Skies...
