Greetings, Peter Keyel texted me earlier today about a Franklin's Gull at Guy Park. I thought it was a bit early, so I dropped the work I was doing and ran out there. I arrived, saw the bird and saw that it had dark wing tips. I called Steve Collins, he was only minutes away. Steve arrived and agreed that it was a Laughing Gull. We watched the gull for the next 30-40 minutes until it flew off to the northeast. Anthony Hewetson and Ross Rickett were out at Muleshoe and were hauling butt back to town to see the bird. I had to make the call saying that the bird had left. Luckily, Steve found the bird again at Andrews Park and Anthony and Ross were able to see the bird.
