Amy and TexBirders,
Today in conversation with James Swan who first saw the bird some weeks ago, he
indicated that the bird was “grayer” underneath and has since got a much
brighter belly. Although “gray” is not the color of an immature Brown Booby, I
took his remark to mean that it may have only recently molted into full adult
plumage, which suggests it would be unlikely to be the Canyon Lake bird.
