Hello,
I went birding this morning in between La Grange and Lake Fayette, and also the
lake itself from Park Prairie Park on the northwest end. Kind of got lost in
all the roads with German names west of the lake - also the power plant doesn’t
allow access to some that from the map looked open. Anyway, highlights included
three Sprague’s Pipits at the intersection of Fritsch and Tietjen, very good
numbers of sparrows, including 2 flocks of Harris’s, 4 Grasshoppers, and 3
groups of Lark Sparrows. I had an eastern-looking Bewick’s Wren, and one
heard-only White-eyed Vireo. At Park Prairie Park, there were hundreds of tame
American Pipits loafing on the cut grass. Also Pine Siskins in the oaks, an
immature Bald Eagle across the lake, and good numbers of waterbirds. 2 Eared
Grebes mixed in with the coots were cool. My FOS. Lots of American White
Pelicans.

Good birding,
