This morning I observed and photographed the wintering female Blackburnian Warbler at Lake Corpus Christi State Park near Mathis. The bird was working the live oaks by the old pavilion. I also had two Pine Warblers in the same area and an empidonax species. Unfortunately the empid flew off before I could nail down an identification. I then went to look for the Long-tailed Ducks in Corpus Christi on Nueces Bay. I saw both birds in a huge raft of scaup about a mile past the fisherman's pull off on Joe Fulton Road/Navigation Boulevard.
