Hello Tex Birders,
A calm day with clear skies and masses of blooming trecul yuccas made the
trip around the West Lake Road extra special today.
Best birds of the day were close views of a Merlin, small groups of
Sandhill Cranes gathering and calling before the their northbound flights,
as well as the continuing mixed flocks of ducks and waders in the fresh
water ponds adjacent to the lakes.
Birding tours end on the last day of March. Call ahead to reserve yours on
the Laguna Atascosa or Bahia Grande.
