[texbirds] LaFitte's Cove today

Hi Texbirders,
LaFitte's Cove was slow until about 4:30 when birds started dropping in.
11 warbler species were seen - Nashville, Blue-winged, Tennessee,
Myrtle, Audubon's, Wilson's, Orange-crowned, both waterthrushes,
Northern Parula, Black-and-white.

An Orange-crowned Warbler showed his orange crown (very rare to see
except when bathing) a first for

Vireos seen were Red-eyed, White-eyed and Blue-headed
Other migrants were Indigo Buntings, FOS Orchard Orioles, American
Robin, Blue-gray Gnatcatcher, Ruby-crowned Kinglet, Ruby-throated Hummingbird
Apparently the Calliope Hummingbird wasn't seen in the morning, but
he appeared at the drip about 4:30.
He is rapidly molting into adult plumage as his throat has almost
completely filled out since last week.
He only had red feathers on the right side of his neck. But here he is today.

4 sparrows were seen...Chipping, Lincoln, Lark, and White-crowned

The Ladder-backed and a Yellow-breasted Sapsucker were the
woodpeckers for the day.
Also 3 Bronzed Cowbirds were found.
To complete the afternoon, an Osprey was sitting on a branch by the
water. First time seen perched Osprey at LaFitte's
